Child Learning Tips

bookMany of you might have wondered whether you should educate your child before their actual school education begins or not? The answer to this would definitely be YES, you should start giving your baby at least basic education which may involve basic etiquette, manners and behavioral education. This type of basic education should begin from within the home as soon as the child has grown enough to get a basic sense of understanding things.

Children being natural learners have a tendency to absorb things which they see around them. The first and the foremost thing which you need to do is to make your children’s environment good and healthy within the family. A healthy family environment can be maintained within the family by fixing the conduct and the attitude of parents at home. Do not forget the fact that children adopt things which they see within their surroundings. It is the duty of parents to check and maintain their conduct in front of their children as they are the ones who will be emulated later by their children.

Parents are definitely the first and the most important teachers for their children. All the basic things in life are taught to children by their parents. Parents teach children to speak, see, listen, eat and touch things. The basic Do’s and Don’ts in life are taught to children by their parents. Parents guide their children to judge between the good, the bad and the worst in life. Basic parenting also involves guiding your children to perform simple day to day tasks. Implanting good habits within children from a young age helps them become more independent and extra confident in performing various other tasks in life at a later stage.

Being parents, you need to train your children so that they are able to perform their day to day tasks independently. This is also an integral part of education which will help them at times when they will have to stay in their schools for long hours without their guardians. For instance, you need to provide proper potty training to them so that they don’t need anybody’s help to perform this natural phenomenon. Making your child potty trained is a tedious process and might take some time but don’t lose hope as this will make your child independent and confident on such issues at the same time making you less embarrassed in front of others.

Other simple day to day tasks which can be taught to children may involve brushing their teeth, making their bed neatly before and after sleep, how to draw in their sketchbooks, how to fill colors in their coloring books, how to take bath in the bathroom alone etc. With their increasing age, you will find that the child gets into a habit of doing his things independently which will amaze you and also make you happy that your training has finally worked for him. Remember not to give your child tasks which he cannot perform or tasks which require excessive strength and endurance. Also, you need to keep a good watch on your child during the initial stages of a task and judge whether the child will be able to do it or not. Do not hesitate to help your child as he is still in his learning period. Do not enforce things on your children which they don’t like. You may also have to bargain for certain things with your child. Educating your child can be a fun activity only if enjoyed with full zeal and enthusiasm.
